If you are unable to give any time, but would like to send a donation or hold your own fund-raising event on behalf of the branch, any money raised will benefit local animals in the branch area, and we would be delighted to hear from you. Donations can also be made via our donation button on the left of this page. Unfortunately, we are currently unable to offer volunteering opportunities to anyone under the age of 16 years and do not have the facilities to offer work experience placements. The main areas we need volunteers for at present are: Raising funds and profile; If you enjoy being creative and have good co-ordination skills, we are very keen to hear from you! We are always looking for new and exciting ways to help raise the branches profile, as well as raising much needed funds for our work to continue. This is an ideal area to involve your friends and family. If you are keen to help and like to make things happen - please make contact! Currently, we carry out collections outside various stores and often set up stalls at local functions such as summer fetes and Christmas fairs to promote our work and offer animal welfare advice locally. We also organise sponsored walks and quiz nights. We are always looking for new ideas and for volunteers to help fundraise for the branch. If you are connected to another group or school who are looking for local charities to support, we would love to hear from you to tell you more about our work. Home Visits We are required to carry out home visits before members of the public provide homes to animals from the society. Before carrying out any home visits you will be required to attend a home visitors course that is run by the RSPCA HQ staff. Fostering We are always looking for foster homes for unwanted cats, dogs, kittens and puppies. Fosterers take care of animals before they are adopted by the public. Animal care experience for particular animals is a help. Adequate and secure space for the animals is essential. We supply the animals food. Please see our FOSTER CARERS page for further info. Campaigns The branch receives information from HQ asking us to promote the campaigns that the RSPCA is actively involved with. For information on current RSPCA animal welfare campaigns please see RSPCA Campaigns Committee Members We are always looking for people who are interested in working as volunteers for the RSPCA, especially at branch level and those keen to become a committee member.
