Lost Animals
Losing a much loved pet is a very traumatic and heartbreaking experience. If you are unfortunate enough to be in this situation, we hope the following contact list of people and organisations will help you get reunited with your pet.
If you have lost your dog, we recommend you contact the following;
- Battersea Dogs and Cats Home - Battersea Dogs & Cats Home
- Local Dog Warden (employed by the local council)
- Local Police
- Your microchip company so they can flag your pet as missing
- RSPCA - Lost and Found Register via the National Cruelty and Advice Line Tel; 0300 1234 999

- Other local animal rescue centres
- Your local vets
- Neighbours, postman, milkman etc
- Local shops and clubs (put flyers on noticeboards)

Found Animals
If you have found an animal, please read the following:
Is it a healthy animal that you believe may have an owner? Try the above contacts.
Is it a sick or injured animal? - Ring the RSPCA National Cruelty and Advice Line on Tel; 0300 1234 999.
Is it healthy stray animal? See below
If you have found a stray dog, we recommend you;
- Report this to the local Dog Warden (employed by local council)
- If the dog is hungry then please feed it and make water available
If you have found a stray cat, we recommend you;
- Try to ascertain if the cat is definitely a stray by checking with neighbours or asking your local vet / RSPCA to scan the animal for a microchip.
- If the cat will let you approach it then you could also fit a paper collar with a note asking the owner to contact you. See the example at the following link: PAPER CAT COLLAR
- If you cannot catch the cat please ring the local RSPCA Richmond Twickenham & Barnes branch for assistance (or the RSPCA National Cruelty and Advice line on the tel no above).
- If the cat is hungry then please feed it and make water available
- If you cannot take it into your home then ensure it has shelter outside which is dry and safe whilst you find a more suitable home for it (see below).
If you have found a rabbit, ferret or other small furry animal we recommend you;

If the owner cannot be traced and you cannot provide a safe loving home yourself, then contact the following:
